Record locking
From GTwM
This page is part of the agileBase documentation
Record locking is set up by an administrator when building a custom plugin for agileBase. For example an invoicing wizard may lock invoice items when an invoice is created, or an expenses printout may lock expense records when printed. This saves accidental modification or deletion of important records.
Records can also be set to lock when they are printed.
If you go to the edit tab of a locked record, you'll see something similar to this:
Note, only someone with MANAGE privileges will have the option to unlock the record, normal users will just see the padlock with a message explaining that the record is locked and can't be edited.
If you do have MANAGE privileges, you'll be able to temporarily unlock a single record for editing at a time. Also, that record will be unlocked only for you, it will still be locked for anyone else. A record unlock lasts until you unlock a different record or log out. There's no way to unlock multiple records and do bulk edits other than turning the locking facility off for the entire table. The option to enable/disable locking is in the manage tab of the table.
